The main purpose of Vietnamese Economics Network (VECON) is to further communications among economists doing research on Vietnam. The network is open to anyone (economist and non-economist, Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese) who has a serious interest in the economics of Vietnam. Standard rules of nettiquettes apply and the main language of communication is English. We hope to make a modest contribution to the task of building the research infrastructure by providing a medium for scholarly communications and professional contacts around the world.

    3. The best way to join VECON is to use the provided Online Subscription Form (temporary disconnected due to spamming; send a private email with subscription information).
     
     Name   include complete diacritical marks if applicable
     e.g., Nguyễn Trường Tộ      (or Nguye^~n Tru+o+`ng To^.)
          First Name (Tên)  given name, e.g., Tộ (To^.)

          Middle Name (Tên Đệm)     

    		 middle name, e.g., Trường (Tru+o+`ng)
          Last Name (Họ)  family name, e.g., Nguyễn (Nguye^~n)
     Salutation   Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms., Dr., Prof., etc  
     Position   student, professor, researcher, etc  
     Affiliation   school, organization, etc  
     Contact Address   complete mailing or street address for professional contacts  
     Telephone   include country/area code  
     Fax   include country/area code  
     Email Address   working email address only  
     Web Page URL   optional (if you have your own personal web pages)  
     Research Interest   important: so you know who's in the same area with you  
     Short Self-Introduction   optional (if you like to tell us something about yourself)  

    The minimum requirement to join the network is a genuine level of seriousness and friendliness (you must be serious and friendly enough to tell us who you are and stand behind what you say). Vietnamese customs take proper introduction and addressing very seriously. Spammers, junk emails, and anonymous postings are not welcome. To discourage these nuisances, the network is set up as a controlled closed list in which only subscribed members can post and receive messages from the list. The server is programmed to automatically reject incomplete subscription requests without warnings. Successful subscribers (nicknamed as VECONers) will receive a confirmation notice within a day or two after which they can post messages to the list at the following address:
