Anxiety and Depression Treatment Survey

As described in the DSM-IV (APA, 1994), persons with social phobia experience a marked and persistent fear and avoidance of social and performance situations in which they are exposed to unfamiliar persons or to possible scrutiny by others. The individual with social phobia fears that he or she will do something or will show anxiety symptoms that will result in humiliation or embarrassment. A diagnosis of Generalized Social Phobia is made when a person experiences anxiety across most social and performance situations. In contrast, a diagnosis of Non-Generalized Social Phobia is made when a person only reports anxiety in one or two specific social or performance situations.

This survey was developed with the goal of improving the dissemination of recent research regarding current and emerging treatments for Generalized Social Phobia.
